Epiphone Custom Shop Les Paul Studio, alpine white, made in China 2016. This is a handy little thing. 'Custom Shop' for Epiphone basically just means 'limited edition', so this was a non-standard colour for this model at the time. The finish is great; the shining-bright-white really has a glam rock vibe, with the dark rosewood board and black plastics, it's got a cool reverse-tuxedo look. The neck is slim and quick; it's been sanded to a smooth satin finish for extra speed and ease of movement and feels a little slimmer than other Epis we've had through. The stock pickups dole out the classic LP tone: thick, crunch mids and booming bass, perfect for rock and roll. The Grover tuners add a bit of tuning stability and feel great to use. The neck/headstock has had a minor repair at some point, the previous owner said it came new from the dealer as-is so it may have been done before ever being sold in the first place; it's stable and issue-free in terms of feel and tone, but have a look at the relevant close-up pics to get the idea. Grab yourself a bargain on a near-new guitar, and work on your pinch-harmonics and 360 fly kicks!
Model: Epiphone Custom Shop Les Paul Studio
Made: 2016, China (serial 16091510552)
Finish: alpine white
Body: mahogany, chambered (approx total wight 3.8kg)
Neck: mahogany, rosewood board with dot inlays, partially sanded to satin finish (may have been done in the 'Custom Shop')
Mods: neck partially sanded back to satin finish, note headstock repair, tuners replaced
Pickups: original Epiphone 'Alnico Classic' humbuckers
Case: basic gig bag
Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The most unusual thing is the neck; it's been partially sanded to remove the outer coat of gloss for a smooth satin feel. There's also been a minor headstock repair at some point, we've reason to believe it was done before it left the dealership as a new guitar. It's a tidy job and there's no stability issues. Aside from the repair, there's barely a mark on it; one tiny mark on the end of the headstock and a nudge of play wear on the guard. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear only, 8/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 11/49s and ready to roll.
